At Melkbos Pre-Primary School, every child matters! We are committed to providing quality education in a safe, positive, Christian environment.
Our goal is to equip your child with essential life skills, while nurturing their personal uniqueness and preparing them for life-long learning. Our classes are setup to provide the necessary infrastructure, resources and professional management for learners to thrive, grow and reach their full potential.
Junior Pre-Primary
AGE: 3 to 4 years old
The focus is on creating an inviting environment and setting up sensory-rich activities to facilitate active play and movement. Through active participation, our teachers boost the self-esteem of our learners and ensure that a sense of accomplishment is achieved.
Pre-Primary
AGE: 4 to 5 years old
The focus is on active participation, integrating and mastering skills needed for formal learning to take place. Examples of skills include regulating emotions, listening to instructions, sitting on a chair, cutting, holding pencil, and so forth – to equip them for Grade R.
Grade R
AGE: 5 to 6 years old
The focus is on school readiness. In the ELA groups, the outcomes are in physical strength, endurance, fine motor skills (small-muscle movements made with the hands and fingers, such as grasping) and gross motor skills (large-muscle movements made with the arms, legs, feet, or entire body). In the Rainbow groups, the outcomes are perceptual skills and to consolidate number and letter knowledge.
